COVID-19 Boiler Installation

Concerned about COVID and your boiler installation? Here’s how to prepare!

Most of us are spending more time than usual at home, which means we use more heating and hot water. It can put a strain on our boilers, and if your boiler needs repaired or you need a replacement, you should be booking an appointment.

We understand that having an engineer in your job during this time can be worrisome. You may be shielding, isolating, or just generally concerned about the protocols. We understand how difficult it can be to have no heating during the winter, and we will always do our best to ensure you are not without for long.

We want to offer some reassurance for your boiler visit. These are some things to know about getting your boiler installation and the COVID restrictions.

Coronavirus Symptoms
If you have Coronavirus symptoms or have been to a country with a recent coronavirus outbreak, you should not book an appointment. We want to protect our engineers as much as our customers. Similarly, if our engineers have Coronavirus symptoms, you can be assured that they will not be working.

Keep Your Distance
To give you peace of mind and for the engineer’s safety, you should stay 6ft away or speak to the engineer from a different room. Our engineers will be wearing PPE, but this gives everyone a little more protection. Our engineers will not be reaching out for a handshake on arrival, so you should not worry about being rude.

Cleaning Up
We appreciate it if the boiler areas are cleaned before the engineer arrives, such as the kitchen worktops, and our engineers will also clean any surfaces when they have completed the work. This increases our safety and yours.

Other Protocols
You will not need to stress about the ‘should I offer the engineer a tea or coffee’ quandary during this period, so there is one benefit! We do not expect you to do this at any time, but especially not during the pandemic. Our engineers will not ask to use any of your facilities, such as the toilet.
We hope this has put your mind at rest, but if you are concerned about anything – before or after the visit, you can contact us, and we will be happy to talk this through. We aim to keep you warm and cosy, particularly while you work from home, but we will never compromise your safety. If you’d like a quote on your boiler installation, you can get this here.
